Where your SMSF will have more than one member, the trustee of the SMSF must comprise of either:
  • a corporate trustee, in which case all of the directors of the corporate trustee must be members of the SMSF; or
  • individual trustees, in which case all of the individual trustees must be members of the SMSF,
unless a member is a minor, in which case the parent or guardian of the minor must be an individual trustee or director of the corporate trustee of the SMSF (as applicable). If your SMSF will only have one member, the trustee of the SMSF must comprise of either:
  • a corporate trustee; or
  • two individual trustees (being, the member of the SMSF and one additional trustee who is either (i) a relative of the member or (ii) is not an employer of the member).

If this option is selected, a company incorporation fee of $770 will be payable prior to us incorporating the company for you. Please note that our fee of $770 includes the registration fee of $576 payable to ASIC. The company name should end in Pty Ltd

Details of individual trustees

All members of the SMSF must be an individual trustee of the SMSF unless a member is a minor, in which case the parent or guardian of the minor must be an individual trustee of the SMSF.

In addition, if your SMSF will only have one member, one additional individual trustee must be appointed – this person (i) must be a relative of the member or (ii) must not be an employer of the member.

Details of directors of the corporate trustee

All members of the SMSF must be a director of the corporate trustee of the SMSF unless a member is a minor, in which case the parent or guardian of the minor must be a director of the corporate trustee of the SMSF.

If your SMSF will only have one member, one additional director of the corporate trustee may be (but is not required to be) appointed – this person (i) must be a relative of the member or (ii) must not be an employer of the member.
